Hemi Trike

Created by the legendary Blastolene Brothers, Randy Grubb and Michael Leeds, this Hemi Trike comes from a lineage of some of the most insane hand-built vehicles ever made.
Now, nearly 20 years after this piece was first built and sent down to Southern California, it's come home to Santa Cruz as part of a new Blastolene World Headquarters mini museum — a collection of some of the builder's most iconic works.
At its heart: what many call the Holy Grail of drag racing engines — a twin-plug 426 Hemi "Elephant" paired with an 8/71 supercharger, pushing roughly 1,000 horsepower. Every inch is hand-built. From the custom chassis to the alloy bodywork. No shortcuts. No templates. Just raw vision and craftsmanship.
The Blastolene Brothers are well known in the automotive world for their wildly ambitious creations like the famous "Tank Car," built for Jay Leno, powered by a literal military tank engine and wrapped in hand-formed aluminum. Known for blending art deco design with massive, unconventional powerplants, their builds are often described as "rolling sculptures" — fully custom, hand-fabricated machines that push the limits of both engineering and design.
Catch it in person at the Pacific Coast Dream Machines this weekend!
